FS: 1989 CRX Si - STS prepped, lots of spares - $6500

Alright. I absolutely love the car and have struggled with selling it for a while, but I've decided that I want to run something more modern and with more horsepower for '15 and I need this car gone to be in the position to buy/build a car over the off-season. I've driven the car to events in Bristol and Atlanta this month. It'll easily hold 4 tires, jack, toolbox, air tank, cooler, helmet, water sprayer, and bags for personals for several days. It has gotten close to 40 mpg on the trips. The only thing I'd think about changing is the seat. It is also eligible for antique tags, so if it is your weekend toy, you only have to tag it once. Co-drives available to interested buyers.

Scott Sawyer built this car. He has done many Hondas and is a mechanic by trade. I purchased the car from him in July 2010.

1989 Honda CRX Si
Approximately 290k miles on the chassis
custom green/white/black paint job
rub strips removed and holes filled with metal

Powertrain
I'm not sure the mileage on the rebuild, but somewhere in the 10-20k mile range
Legal upgraded head gasket (5 layer steel)
DC header
AEM cold air intake (in fender)
shorty exhaust w/Supertrapp (Always passes sound!)
B&M shortshifter
poly shifter bushings
poly motor mount inserts
smooth shifting trans
Zdyne ecu- full standalone engine management (cable included)
lightweight motorcycle battery in custom mount (somewhere in the 5-7# range)
donor axles if you want a set built by Raxles

Interior
Momo Start driver seat
plastic Summit racing passenger seat
Stock driver and passenger seats
all four seats on factory sliders, bolt in
Momo steering wheel with extension to move it closer to driver (purchased in '12)
radio and antenna block off plates
speakers removed
A/C removed
new cargo divider
new HVAC controls (purchased in '10)

Suspension
Koni 3011's built by ProPartsUSA with their custom pillowball mounts (built before the 2012 season, went through in August '12)
an extra set of Koni SPSS3's w/GC sleeves
500# F and 550# R springs
Si and Hf front sway bars (off the car)
ASR rear sway bar with .095" and .188" wall center sections
Poly bushings
Skunk 2 front upper control arms
Ingall's camber kits front (off car with the factory UCA's) and rear
(4) 15x7 Enkei RPF-1's (+41 offset)
(4) 15x7.5 silver 6UL's (+43 offset, I think)
(2) 15x7.5 charcoal TRM wheels (+43, brand new, never used)
a set of steelies with decent street tires
a full sets of stock wheels (I think)
a set of full tread brand new 195/50/15 R1R's
a set of low run shaved 195/50/15 R1R's

The bad:
- slight oil drip. You should check the oil when autocrossing these, so I never dealt with it.
- You will fall in love with it and might have to sell it at some point.

The car has a new starter installed in '13, fresh front hubs/bearings/etc, new clutch and rear main seal from '12, new tie rods from '11, rebuilt steering rack done in '11, new alternator in '11, and probably a bunch of stuff I can't remember. We replaced everything in the front suspension. The car got a new windshield in '10. It comes with a variety of spares.

There is probably lots more, but those are the basics. I'll do my best to answer any questions.

Car is likely getting parted out if it doesn't sell by the end of the season, so I'll also sell it in different configurations if someone needs to work on the price or doesn't have room for all the spares/extra wheels. The car is very fast on the SPSS3's.

1992 Civic Cx - SMF K24 Ready to race

Edit: Car is in S. Florida.

10/4 Trades I'm interested in:

06+ R6 (NO R6s)
07+ CBR 600RR
04+ Gsxr 600/750

If it's been lowered, stretched, repainted, crashed, or heavily modified (beyond gears, exhaust, PC and suspension parts) I'm not interested. Looking for a clean title bike with original plastics and less than 15k miles.

I'm primarily interested in bikes in the $4-5k price range, $6k is over budget. I've found plenty of solid bikes in that 4-5k price range, but can stretch a little for something especially nice. Anything 2010+ worth buying is probably out of my price range.

Any trades would be the fair market value of the motorcycle, with cash equaling my asking price for the car (varies depending on if you want/don't want certain parts). Trading doesn't mean your bike is worth any more or my car, any less, just trying to streamline the process those who might have what I want, and want what I have.

PRICE DROP $8500 No extras (No race seat, race wheels or spares)

Willing to work with buyer pulling parts off the car to lower the price.

Video walk around:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtOyGpDlEkg&list=UUVPow1C07srIZuH-4Cy-dhg

My initial goal was to build an autocross (SMF), track day and eventual NASA TT car that would be quick, reliable and street driven to events. The car never saw a track, I focused on autocross.

I purchased it in 2010 with the K swap. There were small details that had been overlooked/not done to my standards, but the swap was done with high quality parts, and it was a clean, straight chassis with a healthy drivetrain.

I kept the car basically as it was until mid-2013 when I totally rebuilt it; almost all of the things listed below have been done since the summer of 2013.

Every part listed was purchased new, unless noted otherwise. I tried to make the list all inclusive of the aftermarket parts but there’s also a ton of small OEM replacement stuff not mentioned. Every wear part on the car has, at most a thousand street miles and a season of autocross, most are a lot newer.

Where the car is at now it makes a fast and super reliable, local autox/trackday car (Will probably want a full size radiator for summer track days), but it’s a great base for a 100% SMF build (Built motor, baller shocks, aero ect).

Good driver, a set of 275's and a little development will make it a real competitor in SMF. You could also put the AC and radio back in and have a true street car.

Curb Weight = ~2070 lbs (SMF Minimum is 2050 with 2.4L)
Power = 231whp/192wtq on 93
Asking Price = $11,000

15x8 +35 Kosei K1, The hub bores were machined from Miata to Honda hub bore, no spacer required. These wheels were bought from a racer, one has some minor curbing and another has some more significant gouging. I bought them this way; they’ve all held air and balanced perfectly over the 2 years I’ve been auto crossing on them and it has never worried me.

225/45 Z214 C71 with 6 events, lots of life left

Suspension– was bone stock until early 2013, it’s been developed over that time. All parts purchased new.

Body/Interior

Painted by the previous owner. Body/interior is Frost White, Roof is black, bay is blue. Paint has held up very well over the time I’ve owned the car but it has nicks and dings, most from me being careless with tools. I’d rate it 8/10.

There was a small bit of rust in the driver side rear fender lip. I painted it with POR15 when I bought the car and it hasn’t changed/spread at all. 2 small bubbles in the paint and the rest was only in the inner lip of the fender, and isn’t visible without getting under the car. Rest of underside is super clean, definitely never saw real winters.

The hood has 3 dings from below where it was hitting when I first swapped the K24 and RBC.

A leaky brake master cylinder caused some paint wrinkling in that corner of the bay. It was replaced with a new oem MC.

Interior is in awesome shape, (I remove the radio, speakers, rear seats, seatbelts and cargo cover per SMF rules, but I have them, they are in perfect condition).

Ultrashield 15’’ Spec Miata Seat
BuddyClub Super Lowdown Sliders

I bought this LeGrand racecar from Joe Gonzalez in April 2012. Joe Gonzalez and Per Schroeder from Grassroots Motorsport drove this car at the SCCA Solo National Championships (when it was Blue/Yellow) in 2009. Per's post on the GRM board:
http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/2009-solo-national-championships/13940/page1/
Before I bought the racecar, I asked Per his opinion and he pushed me over the edge. He told me it was easy to drive, like a Miata. The FASTEST FREAKING Miata you can ever imagine! In the early 2000’s Terry Green lengthened the wheelbase to 81” and upgraded the racecar to be competitive in SCCA Solo BMod.

[img[http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a10/loudes13/3dsr_zps72b539d7.jpg[/img]

Before 2000 the car was roadraced. I have 2 log books with the car spanning from the 80’s to 2014. Started life as a 1979 LeGrand MK18 with Kawasaki power (vintage/historic eligible).

Easy to own, easy to drive, easy service!

Drives like a Miata, but a Miata with a power to weight ratio better than a Viper! The left hand shift is easy to adjust to and offers better packaging and reliability since the shift mechanism is on the left side of all motorcycle drivetrains. Retains the charging system and has a brand new LiPO 2lbs battery. Starts and runs without jump starting. Full electric fans and h2o pump. The electric h2o pump is the ultimate for Solo. Just turn on the pump for a couple minutes between runs and keep the engine cool. Has never been over 210F while I have owned it. Reliable enough for a single driver to run it every weekend, just check the nuts and bolts and check the chain tension. Your weekends will be trouble free. The racecar is also reliable and safe enough to run on the race track. Full SCCA log booked roll cage and charged fire system is installed in the car.

Large drivers can fit easily and get to minimum weight. I’m 5’9” and a very barrel shaped 235lbs and comfortably fit. My skinny 6’2” co-driver also has no problems. The pedals can easily be adjusted for even taller drivers. Heavier drivers can remove the fire system to get to the minimum solo weight of 1020 with driver.

bodyoff2_zps7f20776f.jpg

Decker Fiberglass body painted in Ferrari red. This body, with the louvers makes great downforce even without additional wings.

2001 Yamaha R1 drivetrain with brand new reworked stock carbs. Starts cold, starts hot, has great response, and most importantly is tuned for midrange power. This torque curve is very manageable and less peaky than typical narrow motorcycle tune. Tuned to run on 93 octane pump gas.
Brand new Barrett heavy Duty clutches. Fresh gaskets.

Carrera coilovers with 550lbs Front & 600lbs Rear 2” diameter springs. Extra spring sets included.

STRONG Front splitter that can take a beating. Add larger 'Pikes Peak' end plates and have serious DF.

2001 Yamaha R1 Engine with electric water pump and electric fans. Cools down super-fast between runs. Functioning charging system for 2lbs LiPO battery. Brand new reworked stock carbs with custom tuning.

New SFR differential housing with Wavetrac LSD unit.

2007 Civic Si 4-door race car for sale (STL, HC, PT)

0
0

Up for sale is our 2007 Civic Si 4-door sedan.  Originally built by and raced by HRA (Honda Research of America) in 25 hours of Thunderhill ultimately sold to Holbrook Racing in Florida.  Shea campaigned the car for several years in World Challenge.  We are the fourth owners.

The Civic was bought from a Honda dealer in Southern California (new) and was built for the track upon its purchase.  The chassis has fewer than 8,000 miles on it.  The current engine, updated to STL specs (new cams and intake restrictor) came out of a 2011 Civic Si.  We campaigned the car successfully in SCCA’s STL class this season; winning 3 of the 5 races entered and never finished further back than 3rd.  The car was also raced at this year’s Runoffs at Laguna Seca, finishing 11th of 24.

The car is in mint condition.  We had to replace the fender and bumper due to some light contact mid-season and never rewrapped these two areas.  The fender and bumper are OEM Honda parts.

Extensive details are listed below.  I have literally hundreds of photos that I can share, so please let me know what you’re interested in and I’ll get those right out to you.  We have a nice collection of spares and have receipts for all the work we’ve done on the car over the last two years.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We’re asking $19,000 or Best Offer.

Please contact me with any questions.

99 Spec Miata - fresh, fast and legal!

0

1999 Spec Miata that was just built this season. Our first race was the cars first time on track and was not yet complete, however, finished 8th out of 25 at the SCCA Majors Race at Gingerman. This was with a driver who had not raced in SM since 2006. Next race at Blackhawk Farms we won. The last race was at Autobahn Country Club where we finished 3rd behind the 2013 & 2014 ABCC SM Champ and a drivers coach at ABCC that has countless time there. Both in top shelf pro built cars.

Fresh motor with 3 race weekends on it and 100% legal to the 2014 rules.

The car was completely stripped down and a custom cage was welded in. The shop has built many winning Spec Miata’s and this car has all that the team has learned since we first started in 2014.

Most of the car was built with new parts and hardware.

Exterior was just painted in Bentley Racing Green and only has one minor scuff on the rear bumper. The interior was painted before the last event in silver. Easy to find things and easier to keep clean than white.

The drivers’ foot well was coated with Lizard Skin which is used in professional race cars to keep the interior cool.

With a 245lb driver, we still run 65lbs of ballast, so the car has no issues making weight.

4 sets of rims, 1 set of sticker SM7's, 1 set of two session SM7’s and a set of H2O rain tires.

Spare tranny

Cool suit not installed but included

Springfield Dyno exhaust

new bushings

new control arms etc.

 New radiator

 New windshield

2014 harness.

Again, in 3 races weekends with no testing, this car has proven it has what it takes to compete at the front and it has yet to be corner weighted! More to list, so will add info as time permits. Just know this is a fast reliable car that is in like new condition. You could not build it for this kind of money. Please call or e-mail me with any questions. 224-622-8900 or Rescuepet55@gmail.com pictures can be seen here - https://www.racingjunk.com/NASA-Spec-Miata/182328444/Freshly-built-and-competitive-99-Spec-Miata.html

F/S '91 CRX Si fully prepped for STS

I'm selling my CRX.

I bought it from Tim Herron. Tim went through the car and rebuilt or refreshed everything the car needed. It's super fun to drive and economical to own, but I think I'm going to stick with my Cobalt this year.

Here is the ad from the time that I bought it from Tim

"Car is a 1991 Honda CRX Si. White in color, very solid and very fast.
Engine totally rebuilt and trans has been fully refurbished as well. No expense spared in build!
Has unorthodox crank pully, tuned ECU, full ceramic coated DC header, AEM short ram intake, short throw shifter, etc.
Suspension:
Koni SPSS3 race valved shocks with Ground Control coilovers 430F/500R.
Full Energy Suspension bushings throughout with exception of brand new Honda trailing arm bushings.
Rear adjustable upper control arms.
ASR rear sway bar.
New wheel bearings all around.
Wheels and Tires:
Car is equipped with Enkei RPF1 wheels, update, R1R Toyos with decent tread.

Have original OEM CRX Si wheels with good all season tires for street driving
Interior is clean.
All things function flawlessly in car; sunroof, guages, HVAC panel is not cracked. Car deleted A/C.
This car has been a top 5 car at nats every year I've had it. THIS CAR CAN WIN!!! Ask anybody that has seen it!"

That is the ad Tim placed when I bought. I think I updated anything that has changed (just the seat, the Kirky kept trying to break my ribs and back and tires).

The car runs great. All it needs is a new owner and driver. Car is in SLC, Utah  $5,495

PM me here or cannongjr @ yahoo . com (no spaces of course) or eight oh one, 230, 72 seven three.  I'm not that good at Internet stuff so no pictures posted but can send recent pictures with my email.

2002 STR prepped BMW Z3 3.0

0

After much consideration, I am selling my 2002 BMW Z3 3.0 which is located in Bloomington, IL.  It was the last car ever sold new in the U.S. (confirmed with BMW NA) and currently stands with right at 99,000 miles. It's about to go into hibernation for winter but is available for viewing and test drive if the roads permit.  The car, if stock would be worth roughly $7000 -- but has in excess of $10,000 of parts in as follows which is not comprehensive:

AST 4200 double adjustable coil overs with 500#F/700#R springs ($3200)
Vorshlag camber/caster plates ($500)
H&R Front sway bar ($200)
BMW OE strut tower reinforcement plates ($30)
Strong Strut strut tower brace and rear "butt" strut brace ($800)
Meyle lower control arms with HD ball joints and BW delrin LCAB's ($300)
Bimmerworld HD engine mounts ($199)
Rogue Engineering transmission mounts ($55)
Ireland Engineering Rear Subframe Bushings ($100)
Performance Engineering custom built 3 clutch LSD with spec ramping ($2200)
Bav Auto/Shark Tuning ($399)
Conforti Cold Air Intake ($400)
Rogue Engineering power pulleys ($200)
BMW Style 32 17"x8.5" wheels (not the prettiest)
Recaro Profi SPG XL driver/Recaro Pole Position passenger covered in vinyl ($1200) plus hardware ($250)
Schroth ASM 4 point harnesses for both seats ($300)
Harddog Rollbar ($500)
Replacement door cards and sill plates
OE airbox (in case you want to go back)
Questionable lightweight battery (not holding charge) and battery box
OE pulleys
Shop Manual
Curt trailer hitch ($250)
Robbins top (top of the line with vents) which has not been installed but is BNIB
Hydraulic parts to restore power top functionality
Various extra brake pads including dedicated track Performance Friction 97's for front
Pioneer aftermarket stereo with bluetooth and Hybrid Audio speakers ($500)

In addition, I would be willing to negotiate the following:
Apex ARC-8 17x9 (ET42) wheel set ($1036) which soon will have no tires
2nd never used Performance Engineering custom built 3 LSD see above ($2200)
Spacers, excess springs, BMW code readers
autocross trailer with diamond plate box ($250)

The Bad
The top needs to be replaced and will be included
front bumper cover needs to be repaired and resprayed to look nice
the lower front grill mesh replaced
to restore use of the power top -- the hydraulic line installed -- if the rear pump is needed I would obtain and provide this as well.
Airbag lights are on due to the Recaro install.

There is also a lingering CEL which the dealer worked on but did not resolve which by code suggest pre or post cat o2 sensors but which they have opined is something else. It does not affect performance but does trigger a CEL which is annoying. It is going to the dealer tomorrow for resolution.

I've loved this car and honestly cringe at what all has been put in but it has given me many miles of smiles. Every person who has driven this car has had very positive impressions. The car as it is setup presently is exceptionally easy to drive at the limits.   $11,000 OBO.  The car has its cosmetic downsides and that is built into the pricing noted and one reason I am putting up for sale now is to allow whomever may be interested in buying the winter to work on anything they want without taking it out of service during the season. I would certainly offer assistance if it sells locally for repairs or to consult on issues since I have immersed myself into knowing as much about Z's as many service techs.

2000 spec miata

This car has an absolutely unmolested engine with 30K miles. We have used it for years as an SM/T4/SSB/STL car and it has been very trouble free. We never used it seriously for SM because it only made 124hp on the dyno. Knowing that the top flight cars made 130+hp meant it wasn't competitive. Not anymore. With the current debacle in SM this car has the potential to be a star.
It is a 2000 that was bought from Copart with right rear damage. It was all repaired and has been used for years. It is a little tattered looking now and needs some love (and paint). Getting hard to find low mile cars like this and for a guy on a budget it could be a hit. The car was driven at the 50th Runoffs in 2 classes, and ran at Miller and Sebring last year. Has been stored in Miami since then.

It comes with a spare Race Engineering 99 1.8 that is 1 race old. Given what I have read on the forums it is likely a piece of crap. I barely got it from Bob before he skipped out. It was built 4 years ago so it may have a legal head or it may have the SRT massaged. I ran it one weekend and sent it back because it didn't make the power. He SUPPOSEDLY went through it again. Worst 5000 dollars I have ever spent. Never put it back in a car. Looks nice, but ????

Car doesn't look spiffy but has always been close to the front. With the new head rules it should get there with a little work.

I have put the Reynard up for sale.  I successfully placed an ad over at Apexspeed with lots of pictures but did something wrong when trying to construct my ad here.

Car as it sits with old hoosiers and car specific spares: $8000

Trailer $650

Other misc stuff and what not listed separately with pricing.

I plan to keep running it and working off any quirks etc until it sells.  I am planning to run on Sunday at the Speedrome.

FS : ITA Dodge Neon ACR 1995

For Sale is my 1995 Dodge Neon ACR. This car has a long history to it (3 SCCA log books worth) and has previously been a National race winner before being put into IT. The car hasn't been raced recently and will need new belts and the window net needs to be setup to drop down instead of hang from the top due to the new rules. Also the seat is a little beat up but doesn't need to be replaced. I have a bunch of spares with the car which include 3 sets of wheels/tires, brakes, and a newly painted front bumper. I'm looking for $2000 obo but I'm willing to take road legal trades as well I'm currently looking for a Suzuki GS500F. The car resides in Tolland, CT. PM or send me a text at 860-716-3592.

Just a list of parts on the car

TTi Long Tube header

Mopar IT Computer
MSD coil
MSD Wires
Underdrive pulleys
Side exit exhaust
Prothane Poly bushings
Full cage with legal door bars
Removable steering wheel
